EXAMINATION RULES SUNDIAL
The National Written Exam
1.The following subjects or syllabus components are subject to a national written exam: the subjects Dutch, English, French or Spanish; all subjects that are part of your sector program and sector component.
2. a) The written National Exam has a first, second and third period
b) The first and second period are administered in the last course year
c) The third period is administered by the federal board of education following on the first course year.
3. After the invigilators have checked the instructions on envelopes with the examination questions, the latter are opened in the presence of the candidate at the beginning on the exam session.
4. After the envelopes have been opened, no announcement or information of any nature whatsoever may be conveyed to the candidates unless the head of the examination bureau has issued orders to that effect.
5. If all the candidates cannot fit in one room, official opening of the envelopes transpires in one of the rooms assigned to the exam in question.
6. The National Written Exam papers distributed to the candidates remain in the room until said exam session ends.
7.A candidate who arrives late is allowed access to the examination room no later than half an hour after the envelope has been opened. He hands in his work at the same time as the other candidates.
8. In special cases the chairman of the examination board, upon the inspector’s instructions, may deviate from the time intended in sub article e, with the understanding that the duration of the test may not be exceeded.
9. The work is done on paper that is stamped and provided by or on behalf of the chairman of the examination board unless the head of the exam bureau has provided other paper. The candidate writes his exam number and name in the allotted area on the paper. Scrap paper is stamped and provided by or on behalf of the chairman of the examination board.
10. During the exam, the candidate is not allowed to leave the room without the express permission of the invigilators.
11. The candidate hands in his work to one of the invigilators; at the end of the session one of the invigilators checks whether all the candidates have handed in their work.
12. The chairman of the exam board may allow a handicapped candidate to take the entire exam or part thereof in a form that is accommodated to the candidate’s faculties. In that case, the chairman of the examination board determines the form in which the exam is taken. He notifies the inspectorate of this procedure as soon as possible.
13. Save an objectively perceptible physical handicap, the following applies with regard to the adapted form as intended in sub article
i. an expertise report has been prepared by a psychologist or remedial educationist
ii.in either case, the accommodation, for as far as it concerns the national written exam, may comprise an extending the duration of the national written exam test in question with no more than 30 minutes.
iii. another accommodation may be allowed, only to the extent that the expertise report mentioned under point (i) proposes such or if the accommodation demonstrably fits the advisory guidelines mentioned in said expertise report.(ii) Each divergence based on sub b* is reported to the inspectorate.
