Celebration of 370 years of Treaty of Concordia

Our partner school on the French side, College du Mont-des-Accords, celebrated March 23, 2018 that 370 years ago the French and Dutch signed a treaty to divide the island of Soualiga Land (Saint Martin, Sint Maarten). An island with nowadays a lot of different cultures, people and traditions. However, and now more than ever after Irma: with one destiny.

Collaboration and partnership between the two parts is essential and we need to work together in the interest of the youth of the island and their future.

“On your own you might go fast, together we can reach further”, was the message of this meeting for students, staff and invited guests.

On behalf of Sundial School, Mireille Regales and La-Vaune Henry were present and MPC was represented by Naomi Richardson, Marita Blijden and Evert Dekker.
La-Vaune and Marita sang the Dutch national Anthem, the Wilhelmus. Students of Mont-des-Accords sang the Sint Maarten Song and La Marseillaisse.

Partnering with College Mont-des-Accords was established some years ago and will continue in the coming years.

After the official ceremony, Madame La Proviseur Ms. Karam offered us a token of appreciation.
